Biography

Teco Celio, also credited as Francesco Celio, is a Swiss actor. Born in Lugano, he began his career with appearances in French television series after moving to Paris, before making his film debut in Italy in the 1980s.

He is known for roles including the bartender in Krzysztof Kieślowski's Three Colors: Red (1994), Gran Maestro in Welcome to the South (2010), an actor in We Have a Pope (2011), Gary in Rose Island (2020), and Saverio in Three Floors (2021). Celio has appeared in numerous Italian and French productions across film and television.

Celio is the son of Nello Celio, a Swiss politician who served as President of the Swiss Confederation. In 2015 he received the Cinema Ticino award at the Locarno Festival.
