Biography

Terry Ryan is an Australian costume designer whose credits span Australian and international film and television from the late 1970s onwards. He began in wardrobe roles on productions including Gallipoli (1981) and My Brilliant Career (1979) before taking lead costume designer positions.

Ryan designed the costumes for Muriel's Wedding (1994), Chopper (2000), Farscape (1999–2003), King Kong (2005), Knowing (2009) and Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010). Several of his costumes from Muriel's Wedding are held in the collection of the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on Farscape.
