Biography

Terry Saunders (1923–2011) was an American actress and singer. She began her Broadway career in 1942 with a role in the ensemble of The Time, the Place and the Girl, and appeared in subsequent productions including Bloomer Girl (1944) and Music in the Air (1951).

She is known for playing Lady Thiang in the 1956 film The King and I, a role she had earlier taken over as a replacement on Broadway. She performed the song "Something Wonderful" in both the stage and screen versions. Saunders had five other Broadway roles and guest-starred on an episode of the television series The Danny Thomas Show (1956).
