Biography
Teruhisa Yamamoto is a Japanese film and television producer. He graduated from the Japan Film School in 2003 and began working in the industry at C&I Entertainment before joining Walt Disney Japan. He later established Chiaroscuro Co., Ltd. as an independent production company.
Yamamoto has produced several notable films, including Birds Without Names (2017), Asako I & II (2018), Wife of a Spy (2020) and Drive My Car (2021), the last of which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture—the first for a Japanese producer in that category. His television credits include The Naked Director (2019) and Gannibal (2022). He has received producer awards including the Shindo Kaneto Producer Award.
