Biography

Tetsuaki Matsuda is a Japanese anime director, episode director and storyboard artist. He has worked on numerous television series and films, beginning his career in animation before moving into directing roles.

Matsuda is credited as director or episode director on series including Attack on Titan (2013), Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal (2011), Terra Formars (2014), Poco's Udon World (2016), Great Pretender (2020), Princess Connect! Re:Dive (2020), Digimon Adventure: (2020), Rurouni Kenshin (2023) and Unnamed Memory (2024). He has also contributed storyboards and unit direction to projects such as Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions (2016). Earlier credits include key animation and in-between work on films including Howl's Moving Castle (2004) and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (2001). He has been affiliated with studios such as Doga Kobo.
