Biography
Thales Junqueira is a Brazilian production designer and art director. Born in 1987 in Belo Horizonte, he has lived in Recife since childhood and has collaborated frequently with directors including Anna Muylaert, Kleber Mendonça Filho and Gabriel Mascaro.
His feature production design credits include The Second Mother (2015), Aquarius (2016), Don't Call Me Son (2016), Divine Love (2019), Bacurau (2019) and The Secret Agent (2025). He also contributed art direction or set decoration to earlier projects such as Neighboring Sounds (2012) and Tattoo (2013).
In 2020 Junqueira received the ABC award for best production design for Bacurau. He has received further nominations for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro and the ABC award.
