Biography
Thekla Simona Gelsomina Reuten is a Dutch actress. She was born on 16 September 1975 in Bussum, Netherlands, and studied acting at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten.
Reuten first gained international attention for her role as Lotte in the 2002 film Twin Sisters, for which she received the Shooting Star Award at the Berlinale; the film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. She also appeared in the Oscar-nominated Everybody's Famous! (2000). Her English-language credits include Marie in Martin McDonagh's In Bruges (2008), Mathilde in The American (2010) opposite George Clooney, and Marta in Red Sparrow (2018).
On television she has played roles in Sleeper Cell (2005), Lost (2008), Warrior Nun (2020) as Jillian Salvius, and Citadel: Diana (2024) as Julia Zani. She has also worked extensively in theatre, including a production of Blood Wedding at the Almeida Theatre in London.
