Biography
Thierry Godard is a French actor. He was born on 8 February 1967 in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. After earning a cabinetmaking diploma, he trained at the Studio Pygmalion in Paris, participating in workshops taught by Robert Cordier. He began acting on television in 1999 in the series Avocats & associés.
Godard became known to a wider audience for his role as Lieutenant Gilles 'Gilou' Escoffier in the series Spiral (Engrenages, 2005–2020). He also appeared as Raymond Schwartz in Un village français (A French Village, 2009–2017). His film credits include Anything for Her (2008), Welcome (2009) and Bastille Day (2016).
More recent work includes roles in The Head (2020), Dark Hearts (2023) and Andor (2022 and 2025). In 2024 he became a pensionnaire of the Comédie-Française.
