Biography
Thomas Ian Griffith is an American actor and martial artist. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on 18 March 1962, he trained as an opera singer and worked in theatre and on Broadway before moving to Los Angeles.
He is best known for playing Terry Silver in The Karate Kid Part III (1989), a role he reprised across multiple seasons of the Netflix series Cobra Kai (2021–2025). Other film appearances include Vampires (1998), xXx (2002) and Kull the Conqueror (1997). On television he has guested in One Tree Hill and worked as a writer and producer on Grimm.
Griffith's first regular television role was as Catlin Ewing on the soap opera Another World (1984–1987). He holds black belts in tae kwon do and kenpo karate.
