Biography
Thomas Langmann is a French film producer, actor, screenwriter and director. Born in Paris on 24 May 1971, he is the son of director and producer Claude Berri. He began his career as an actor in his father's films and received César Award nominations for Most Promising Newcomer for Les années sandwiches (1988) and Paris s'éveille (1991), as well as a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Le nombril du monde (1993).
Langmann established the production company La Petite Reine in 1994 and moved into producing in the early 2000s. He is known for producing The Artist (2011), directed by Michel Hazanavicius, which he largely self-financed after struggling to secure investors for the black-and-white silent project. The film won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2012, as well as the Producers Guild of America Award for Best Theatrical Motion Picture. Other credits include the Mesrine films (2008) and several Asterix productions in various capacities.
