Biography
Tim Truman is an American composer and musician. He began scoring for television in 1984 with an episode of Fame and subsequently composed the score for Michael Mann's L.A. Takedown (1989).
Truman is best known for replacing Jan Hammer as composer on the fifth and final season of Miami Vice (1988–1989), for which he provided the background score and several songs. His other television credits include the main title theme and numerous episodes of Melrose Place (1992–1999), as well as work on Charmed (1998–1999), Stargate SG-1 (1997), Jeremiah (2002–2004) and Sunset Beach (1997). Film scores include South Central (1992), Mikey (1992) and Retroactive (1997).
He received ASCAP Awards for Top TV Series for Melrose Place (1996 and 1997) and Charmed (1999), and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for C.P.W. (1996).
