Biography
Timothy V. Murphy is an Irish actor born in Tralee, County Kerry. He trained at the Focus Theatre in Dublin and is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio. He began his career on stage and has been nominated for an Ovation Award for his performance in Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane.
Murphy is known for his television roles including Galen O'Shay in Sons of Anarchy (2008–2014), for which he was voted best villain in a readers' choice award, Ian Doyle in Criminal Minds (2005) and Osip Agronov in True Detective (2014). His film credits include Seth in National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007), Fritz in The Lone Ranger (2013) and a role in Appaloosa (2008).
