Biography
Tio Hardiman is a Chicago community organiser and violence prevention strategist. He joined CeaseFire in 1999 and founded the Violence Interrupters Initiative in 2004. His work was documented in the 2011 film The Interrupters, directed by Steve James, in which he appears as himself.
Hardiman serves as executive director of Violence Interrupters, NFP. He has written books including Interrupting Gun Violence: The Public Health Approach and has appeared in other television and media discussing anti-violence initiatives.
