Biography
Tobias Moretti is an Austrian actor. Born Tobias Bloéb on 11 July 1959, he trained in composition at the Vienna University of Music and Applied Arts before studying acting at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in Munich. He was a member of the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel ensemble and performed at the Munich Kammerspiele from 1985 to 1995.
Moretti is known for his role as Richard Moser in the television series Inspector Rex (1994–1998). His film credits include The Dark Valley (2014), A Hidden Life (2019) as Fr Ferdinand Fürthauer, Louis van Beethoven (2020) and The House (2021). He has also appeared in Bad Banks (2018) and Brothers of the Wind (2015).
Since 1997 he has been married to Julia Moretti, an oboist.
