Biography

Todd Fjelsted is an American production designer. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he began his career as a fine artist exhibiting in galleries during the 1990s before moving into theatre, photography and film. In 2003 he wrote and directed the animated short The Firefly Man, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.

He has worked as a production designer for more than twenty years on independent films and television series for Netflix, HBO, Amazon and others. His credits include Kaboom (2010), White Bird in a Blizzard (2014), Looking (2014) and its 2016 film, Phoenix Forgotten (2017), GLOW (2017–2019), Helstrom (2020), The First Lady (2022), Beacon 23 (2023) and Genius (2024). For GLOW he won a Primetime Emmy Award and an Art Directors Guild Award in 2018, a second ADG Award in 2019, and received further Emmy and ADG nominations in 2020.
