Biography
Tolula Dada is a British writer and playwright. Nigerian-born and London-based, she began her career in journalism and television production, with early credits on programmes including EastEnders, The Culture Show and The Film Show. She has worked in script editing and development for broadcasters including BBC One, ITV, Sky and HBO/Cinemax.
Her theatre work includes the plays Carrot or Stick?, nominated for the 2015 Alfred Fagon Award, and Marry or Burn, longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award in 2020. As a screenwriter, her credits include episodes of Grantchester (2021), Red Rose (2022), No Escape (2023), Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story (2024) and Gangs of London (2025).
