Biography
Tom Butterworth is a British screenwriter and television writer. He was born in 1966 in London.
He has collaborated frequently with his brother Jez Butterworth on films including Mojo (1997) and Birthday Girl (2001). His other film credits include the screenplay for The Last Legion (2007).
Butterworth has written for numerous television series, including episodes of Hustle, Ashes to Ashes, Fortitude and Tin Star. He co-created Britannia (2018–2021) with his brother and served as showrunner for the second series of Gangs of London (2020). He is the creator of the upcoming series Kill Jackie (2026).
