Biography
Tom MacRae is an English screenwriter, playwright, lyricist and television producer. He wrote the two-part story 'Rise of the Cybermen' and 'The Age of Steel' for the 2006 series of Doctor Who, and the 2011 episode 'The Girl Who Waited'.
His other television writing includes episodes of Agatha Christie's Marple, Lewis, Bonekickers and Casualty. He created and wrote the Comedy Central series Threesome (2011–2012) and contributed to The Librarians (2014) as writer and co-executive producer. He was nominated for a BAFTA for the 2002 series Off Limits: School's Out.
MacRae wrote the book and lyrics for the stage musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie, which received an Olivier nomination, and adapted it for the 2021 film version, for which he also wrote additional songs.
