Biography
Tom Malone, known professionally as Tom 'Bones' Malone, is an American jazz musician, arranger and actor. He plays trombone, saxophone, trumpet and other instruments, and has worked as a studio musician and arranger on numerous recordings and television shows.
Malone graduated from the University of North Texas. He was a member of the house band on Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1985, serving as musical director from 1981, and later joined the CBS Orchestra on Late Show with David Letterman. He was an original member of the Blues Brothers band and appeared as 'Bones' Malone in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers and its 1998 sequel Blues Brothers 2000. He is also credited in The Last Waltz (1978) and A Very Murray Christmas (2015).
