Biography
Tom Tully (21 August 1908 – 27 April 1982) was an American actor. Born in Durango, Colorado, he began his career in radio and on the stage, appearing in several Broadway productions in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He made his film debut in Northern Pursuit (1943) and went on to work in both cinema and television until the early 1970s.
Tully received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Comdr. DeVriess in The Caine Mutiny (1954). He was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 for his contributions to film. Among his other credits are appearances in Where the Sidewalk Ends (1950), Coogan's Bluff (1968) and Charley Varrick (1973), as well as guest roles in series such as Bonanza, Perry Mason and Mission: Impossible.
