Biography
Tomisaburō Wakayama was a Japanese actor. Born Masaru Okumura on 1 September 1929 in the Tokyo area, he died of heart failure on 2 April 1992 in Kyoto.
He is best known for playing Ogami Ittō in the six Lone Wolf and Cub samurai films (1972–1974). He also appeared as the yakuza boss Sugai in Ridley Scott's Black Rain (1989). Wakayama came from a kabuki family and was the brother of actor Shintaro Katsu. His son, Kiichirō Wakayama, is also an actor.
