Biography
Tommy Abuel is a Filipino actor and lawyer. Born on 16 September 1942 in Tayabas, Quezon, he began acting in the early 1970s after qualifying as a lawyer.
He is known for his role as Pol in the 1975 film Manila in the Claws of Light, for which he won the FAMAS Best Supporting Actor award. He received a second FAMAS award in the same category for Karma (1981) and the Cinemalaya Best Actor award for Dagsin (2016). His other film credits include Insiang (1976) and Bituing Walang Ningning (1985). On television he has appeared in series such as FPJ's Ang Probinsyano and Batang Quiapo (2023), in which he plays Don Julio Montenegro.
Abuel is also an award-winning stage actor, having received the Aliw Award for Best Stage Actor on three consecutive occasions.
