Biography
Tommy Pico is a Kumeyaay writer, poet and podcast host. He grew up on the Viejas Reservation in California and attended Sarah Lawrence College, where he studied pre-med before moving to New York City and beginning to write poetry.
Pico published his first book-length poem, IRL, in 2016. Subsequent poetry collections include Nature Poem (2017), Junk (2018) and Feed (2019). He has received a Whiting Award and an American Book Award.
He has written for the television series Reservation Dogs (2021–2023), serving as staff writer and executive story editor, and for Resident Alien (2021–2024). Pico also co-hosts the podcasts Food 4 Thot and Scream, Queen!.
