Biography
Tommy Rall (1929–2020) was an American actor, dancer and singer. Born Thomas Edward Rall in Kansas City, Missouri, he trained in ballet, tap and acrobatic dance from childhood and began appearing in films in the 1940s. He became a featured player in several 1950s MGM and other studio musicals.
Rall is known for his roles as Bill Calhoun/Lucentio in Kiss Me Kate (1953), Frank Pontipee in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) and Chick in My Sister Eileen (1955). He also appeared on Broadway in productions including Miss Liberty (1949) and Milk and Honey (1960), and in later films such as Funny Girl (1968) and Pennies from Heaven (1981). He performed as an operatic tenor in the 1960s.
