Biography
Tonantzin Carmelo is an American actress. She grew up in Orange County, California, and is of Tongva, Kumeyaay and Latina descent. She studied at the University of California, Irvine, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Dance.
Carmelo began her professional acting career in educational musical theatre and has worked in film, television, stage and video games. She is known for her role as Thunder Heart Woman in the miniseries Into the West (2005), for which she received a Screen Actors Guild nomination, and as Touching Ground in the series The English (2022). Other credits include recurring roles in La Brea (2021–2024) and Dark Winds (2022–).
