Biography
Tonpei Hidari (1937–2018) was a Japanese actor. He appeared in films and television from the 1960s onwards, with credits in more than 100 productions.
He is known for the role of Risuke in The Ballad of Narayama (1983) and Kojo in Jack and the Beanstalk (1974). His television work includes the series Monkey (1978–1980), in which he also contributed to the soundtrack.
Hidari was born in Kita, Tokyo, on 30 May 1937 and died in Tokyo on 24 February 2018.
