Biography
Tony Ching Siu-tung (also credited as Ching Siu-tung or Cheng Hsiao-tung) is a Hong Kong film director, action choreographer, actor and producer. He made his directorial debut with the wuxia film Duel to the Death (1982).
He is best known for directing the supernatural fantasy A Chinese Ghost Story (1987), produced by Tsui Hark, and its sequels A Chinese Ghost Story II (1990) and A Chinese Ghost Story III (1991). He also co-directed the Swordsman series and has worked extensively as an action choreographer on films including Shaolin Soccer (2001) and Hero (2002).
Born in Hong Kong on 31 October 1953, Ching trained for seven years at the Eastern Drama Academy and is the son of Shaw Brothers director Cheng Kang.
