Biography

Tony Dunsterville (1937–2008) was a British special effects technician, model maker and animatronic engineer. He began in the art department on Gerry Anderson puppet productions before constructing models for Superman (1978).

He worked with Jim Henson's Creature Shop on The Dark Crystal (1982) and Labyrinth (1986), where he contributed to creature workshop teams and received a BAFTA nomination for Best Special Visual Effects. Dunsterville is credited as costume designer on Batman (1989) and with prosthetics on Lifeforce (1985). He also contributed to Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and High Spirits (1988).
