Biography
Tony Genaro was an American film, television and stage actor. Born in Gallup, New Mexico, he enlisted in the US Army at the age of 14 by lying about his age. After leaving the service he joined the San Diego Theater Company, where he often appeared on stage opposite Carl Weathers. He studied at San Diego State University and worked for several years as a licensed psychiatric technician at Patton State Hospital in California before beginning his acting career in the early 1970s.
Genaro was best known for playing the cattle rancher Miguel in the 1990 film Tremors and reprising the role in the 2001 sequel Tremors 3: Back to Perfection. His other film credits include The Milagro Beanfield War (1988), La Bamba (1987), The Mask of Zorro (1998), Phenomenon (1996), Mighty Joe Young (1998), Anger Management (2003) and World Trade Center (2006). He also appeared in television series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami and The Shield.
A member of SAG/AFTRA and Actors' Equity since 1970, Genaro died of natural causes at his home in Hollywood, California, on 7 May 2014.
