Biography

Torri Higginson, also credited as Sarah Victoria Higginson, is a Canadian actress. She was born on 6 December 1969 in Burlington, Ontario. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Higginson is known for her role as Mary in the 1996 film The English Patient. She played Dr Elizabeth Weir in Stargate SG-1 (2004–2006) and Stargate Atlantis (2004–2008), and has appeared in series including Dark Matter (2015–2017) as Commander Truffault and Transplant (2020) as Claire Malone. She won a Gemini Award in 2000 for The City and received a Saturn Award nomination for Stargate Atlantis.

She has also worked in theatre, appearing in productions such as Three Tall Women, Weldon Rising and Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
