Biography

Troels Lyby is a Danish actor. He was born on 15 October 1966 in Solbjerg, Denmark, and trained at the acting school of Odense Teater from 1990 to 1994. He began his career in theatre, including productions at Dr. Dantes Teater and Betty Nansen Teatret.

Lyby made his film debut in the mid-1990s and gained recognition for his role as Henrik in Lars von Trier’s The Idiots (1998). He has appeared in Shake It All About (2001), Accused (2005) — for which he received the Robert Award for Best Actor — The Keeper of Lost Causes (2013) and What We Become (2015). His television credits include The Killing (2007) as Erik Salin and Dicte (2013) as Henrik Mølgaard.
