Biography
Tyler English-Beckwith is a writer, playwright and filmmaker. She holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch and a BA in African and African Diaspora Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
She is a staff writer on the television series Outlander (2014), credited on episodes from 2023 to 2025. Her other screen work includes the podcast series Daughters of DC (2021) and the short film The Forgotten Four (2021). English-Beckwith has received the 2018 Kennedy Center Paula Vogel Play Prize and the 2020 Leah Ryan Fund for Emerging Women Writers. Her plays include Mingus and TWENTYEIGHT.
