Biography
Tyler J. Kupferer is an animation professional specialising in layout and cinematography at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He began his career there as a layout trainee on Frozen (2013) after completing a Master’s degree in animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design, having earlier studied computer graphics technology at Purdue Polytechnic.
Kupferer worked as a layout artist on numerous Disney features, including Zootopia (2016), Moana (2016), Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018), Frozen II (2019), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) and Encanto (2021). He advanced to layout supervisor on Strange World (2022) and Wish (2023), and served as Director of Cinematography – Layout on Zootopia 2 (2025). He has also received writing credits on the short films Duck Heart Teslacoil (2009) and The Girl and the Fox (2011).
