Biography
Ulf Johanson (also credited as Ulf Johansson) was a Swedish actor. Born in Stockholm in 1922, he died in the same city in 1990.
Discovered by Ingmar Bergman while studying acting in the early 1940s, Johanson made his stage debut in 1941 in Bergman's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He appeared in close to 40 Bergman productions for stage and screen, including ten films: Crisis (1946), The Seventh Seal (1957), Hour of the Wolf (1968) as Heerbrand, Shame (1968) as the doctor, and The Magic Flute (1975) as the second priest. He joined the Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1964, where he continued to work with Bergman.
Johanson received the Eugene O'Neill Award in 1983 and appeared in other films and television productions.
