Biography
Urban Thielmann (1909–1988) was an American musician and orchestrator who worked in the music departments of numerous Hollywood films, primarily for 20th Century Fox.
He began as a pianist and orchestrator in the 1940s, with credits including Leave Her to Heaven (1945), The Gunfighter (1950) and All About Eve (1950). Later roles included music contractor and orchestra contractor on films such as Patton (1970) and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).
Thielmann was born and died in Los Angeles, California.
