Biography
Urs Rechn is a German actor. He was born on 18 January 1978 in Halle an der Saale and trained at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, graduating in 2004. He has worked extensively in German theatre, including periods at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Landestheater Tübingen and Theater Chemnitz.
Rechn is known for his role as Oberkapo Biederman in the 2015 Hungarian film Son of Saul, directed by László Nemes, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His other screen credits include Eight Miles High (2006), Run Boy Run (2013), Inside Man: Most Wanted (2019) and appearances in series such as Outlander and The Capture.
