Biography
Valeriy Grishko was a Russian actor and theatre director. He was born on 12 November 1951 in Yasynuvataya, Donetsk region, Ukrainian SSR, and died on 12 May 2022 in Samara, Russia.
Grishko trained at the Leningrad Institute of Culture, graduating in 1972 from the folk theatre directing department, and later at the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema under Georgy Tovstonogov, completing his studies in 1979. He served as artistic director of the Samara Academic Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky.
He appeared in films including Leviathan (2014) as the Bishop, Hotel Lux (2011) as Stalin, White Tiger (2012) as Zhukov, Battle for Sevastopol (2015) as General Petrov, The Dawns Here Are Quiet (2015) as Brichkina's Father, and The Spacewalker (2017) as Leonid Brezhnev. Grishko also acted in television series and directed numerous stage productions.
