Biography

Vanessa Place is an American writer, poet and criminal appellate attorney. She has written for television series including Xena: Warrior Princess (2001), Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1999), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2003), Young Hercules (1998–1999) and The Legend of Tarzan (2001).

Place earned a BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MFA from Antioch University and a JD from Boston University. She co-directs the Los Angeles-based Les Figues Press, which publishes experimental writing, and has published numerous books of poetry, prose and conceptual writing, including La Medusa (2008) and the Tragodía trilogy.
