Biography

Vera Voronina (also credited as Вера Воронина and Wera Awramow) was a Russian actress of the silent film era. Born in Odessa in the Russian Empire (now Ukraine) around 1904, her family fled following the 1917 Revolution. She worked as a model and dancer before entering films, appearing in productions in Germany, Sweden, Britain and the United States.

Her credits include Hon, den enda (1926), Huntingtower (1927), The Whirlwind of Youth (1927), The Patriot (1928) as Mademoiselle Lapoukhine, and several German films in 1929. She arrived in the United States in 1927 under contract to Paramount but returned to Europe the following year. Her career ended with the advent of sound films. She is believed to have died in 1942.
