Biography
Verree Teasdale was an American stage and film actress. Born in Spokane, Washington, she trained for the stage and made her Broadway debut in 1924 in The Youngest. She appeared regularly on Broadway until 1932, including a co-starring role in Somerset Maugham's The Constant Wife with Ethel Barrymore.
Her first film was Syncopation (1929). She played Hippolyta in the 1935 Warner Bros. adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Teasdale appeared in other films through the 1930s and 1940s, often in supporting roles in comedies. She was married to actor Adolphe Menjou from 1935 until his death in 1963; the couple appeared together in films including The Milky Way (1936) and co-hosted a syndicated radio programme in the late 1940s and early 1950s. She was active until around 1950.
