Biography
Vi-Dieu Nguyen is an American writer, storyboard artist and head of story working in animation. Also credited as Vi Nguyen, he wrote one episode of the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall (2014).
Nguyen grew up in Orange County, California, in a Vietnamese household. He trained at CalArts and completed Pixar’s first story internship programme. He has worked at studios including DreamWorks Animation, LAIKA, Blue Sky Studios, Sony Pictures Animation and Warner Animation Group.
His credits include story artist on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and head of story on DC League of Super-Pets (2022). He has also contributed to The Powerpuff Girls (2016) and returned to Sony Pictures Animation for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
