Biography
Vilko Filač (14 February 1950 – 25 November 2008) was a Slovenian cinematographer. He graduated from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) in 1977.
Filač is best known for his long collaboration with director Emir Kusturica, serving as director of photography on Do You Remember Dolly Bell? (1981), When Father Was Away on Business (1985), Time of the Gypsies (1988), Arizona Dream (1993) and Underground (1995). His other credits include The Brave (1997), Chinese Box (1997), The Children of the Century (1999) and Novocaine (2001). He received several awards for his work in Slovenia.
