Biography
Virginia B. Johnson, also credited as Virginia Johnson and V Bristol-Johnson, is an American costume designer. She holds an MFA in Costume Design and Fashion History from West Virginia University and began her career working as a costume designer in regional and summer-stock theatre before moving into film and television.
She worked as a costume supervisor on productions including Spotlight (2015), Black Mass (2015) and Joy (2015). As lead designer her credits include Patriots Day (2016), Mile 22 (2018), Spenser Confidential (2020), Hillbilly Elegy (2020) and The New Mutants (2020). She has frequently collaborated with director Peter Berg.
Johnson designed the costumes for the series The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023) and American Primeval (2025), the latter earning her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Period Costumes.
