Biography
Virginia Gibson (born Virginia Gorski) was an American actress, dancer and singer who worked in film, television and musical theatre. She began her career in the chorus of the St Louis Municipal Opera and made her Broadway debut under her birth name in the 1940s.
In Hollywood she appeared in several Warner Bros. musicals, including Tea for Two (1950). Her best-known film role was as Bride Liza in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). She also played Babs in Funny Face (1957). On stage she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Beth Livingstone in Happy Hunting (1956–57).
Gibson later co-hosted the children's documentary series Discovery (1962–71). She died in Newtown, Pennsylvania, in 2013.
