Biography
Vishal Bhardwaj is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer and music composer. He is also credited as Vishal Bharadwaj.
He is known for directing and writing the Shakespeare adaptations Maqbool (2003), Omkara (2006) and Haider (2014), as well as Kaminey (2009), 7 Khoon Maaf (2011) and Talvar (2015). He composed the music for Drishyam (2015) and is a director and writer on the anthology film Lust Stories 3 (2026). Bhardwaj frequently collaborates with lyricist Gulzar and has received nine National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award.
He is married to playback singer Rekha Bhardwaj.
