Biography
Vlad Voiculescu is a Romanian politician and patients’ rights activist who appears as himself in the 2019 documentary film Collective. Directed by Alexander Nanau, the film examines the public health scandal following the 2015 Colectiv nightclub fire in Bucharest and the efforts of journalists and officials to expose systemic corruption in the healthcare system. Voiculescu, then serving as Minister of Health in a technocratic government, granted the filmmakers access to his work addressing issues such as diluted disinfectants and hospital mismanagement.
