Biography

W. Peter Iliff is an American screenwriter, film director and producer. He was born on 19 November 1957 in Dallas, Texas, and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara. He began his career writing screenplays while working as a waiter in Los Angeles and later as a runner on the ABC series That's Incredible!.

Iliff received sole screenplay credit and shared story credit with Rick King on the 1991 action film Point Break, directed by Kathryn Bigelow. His other screenwriting credits include Patriot Games (1992), Varsity Blues (1999), Under Suspicion (2000) and The Enforcer (2022). He also directed and wrote Rites of Passage (2012) and has worked as a script doctor on several films. He contributed the story for the 2015 remake of Point Break.
