Biography
Wally Brown, also credited as Wallace Edgar Brown, was an American actor and comedian. Born in Malden, Massachusetts, he performed in vaudeville for fifteen years before entering films at RKO Radio Pictures with Petticoat Larceny (1943).
RKO paired him with Alan Carney as the comedy team Brown and Carney, their answer to Abbott and Costello; they appeared together in eight films between 1943 and 1946, including Zombies on Broadway (1945). After the partnership ended, Brown took supporting roles in films such as Notorious (1946), in which he played Mr. Hopkins, and later appeared in television series including Perry Mason and Bonanza. He reunited with Carney in The Absent-Minded Professor (1961). Brown died in Los Angeles in 1961.
