Biography
Walter Carvalho is a Brazilian cinematographer and director. Born in 1947 in João Pessoa, Paraíba, he began working in cinema in 1973 and has contributed to more than sixty feature films.
He is known for his cinematography on Central Station (1998), Behind the Sun (2001), Madame Satã (2002), Carandiru (2003) and Cazuza: Time Doesn't Stop (2004), on which he also served as director. Carvalho is the father of cinematographer Lula Carvalho and the brother of filmmaker Vladimir Carvalho.
