Biography

Walter Coblenz (1928–2022) was an American film and television producer. He produced All the President's Men (1976), directed by Alan J. Pakula and starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, which received eight Academy Award nominations including one for Best Picture for Coblenz.

He began his career as a production manager and assistant director on films including Downhill Racer (1969) and Two-Lane Blacktop (1971). His other producing credits include The Candidate (1972), The Onion Field (1979), SpaceCamp (1986) and Money Talks (1997). He also produced the Emmy-nominated television miniseries The Blue Knight (1973). Later he served as senior vice president of production at TriStar Pictures and Carolco Pictures, supervising more than twenty features. Born in Glogau, Germany, he emigrated to the United States as a child.
